NuShield Issued a Patent for its Non-Adhesive Screen Protector Film

Newtown, Pa. – NuShield, Inc., the leading manufacturer of non-adhesive screen protectors is pleased to announce that it has been granted U.S. Patent no. 7,070,837 by the United States Patent Office for the overlay films that it produces to provide protection for electronic devices with LCD or touch screen displays.

The patent covers the method of manufacturing and use of a replaceable, non-adhesive plastic film that includes a coating that suppresses the formation of Newton rings when the film is installed on an electronic device display.

NuShield screen protectors are made of super thin, durable polymers that provide extended protection against scratches and gouges. NuShield screens are abrasion and chemical resistant and provide a high degree of clarity. They are available with clear or a non-reflective surface. NuShield films have been tested by the military and have been chosen over static cling and adhesive type films because they can function in extreme environments.

This patented technology for NuShield films allows them to be installed between the screen and case of the device without adhesive. This allows the film to be removed, cleaned and reinstalled without any damage to the protective film or the LCD display. NuShield films can also be designed to work with gasket sealed, NEMA-rated devices using a special, reusable adhesive. Under normal conditions a NuShield film can provide screen protection up to over one year.

NuShield Inc., based in Newtown, PA, has been the leading provider of screen protectors for LCD touch screens used in electronic devices since 1998 and is sold directly to consumers on its website or through distributors worldwide.
